5 Health Benefits Of Aloe vera

We all know about the Aloe Vera plant and its immense health benefits, but not its many different types. According to a discovery it is found that aloe has around 250 species, of which four are grown for their health benefits. Aloe Vera Barbadenis is the most cultivated of the species and it is native to North Africa. Apart from normal species of Aloe Vera, the wild species can live for a century. This plant produces two substances: Aloe Vera Gel- which is 96% water and the other substance is Latex- which is used as a laxative.

It is said that Cleopatra, known to be "a woman of surpassing beauty", applied aloe Vera gel on her skin as part of her beauty regimen.

Aloe Vera plant is known for its sap that helps ease sunburn and many other types of skin ailments. As if you talk about other plants that are having a medicinal purpose like Tulsi, it also has various health benefits.

So the Aloe Vera has. Although it can be toxic, this one is the best for medicinal purposes, and it is well-suited to being a houseplant also. Besides, the Aloe Vera works so well in dry conditioned with little light, although it is frost-tender, so it needs to be protected when it's cold outside.

  1. Contains Healthful Plant Compound

Aloe Vera is a thick, short-stemmed plant stores water in its leaves. It is widely used in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries, and has an estimated annual market value of $13 billion globally. 

Aloe Vera is well recognized by its thick, pointed and fleshy green leaves, which can grow to about 12-19 inches (30-50 cm) in length.

Each leaf of Aloe Vera is full of tissue that stores water, which makes the leaves thick. These filled tissues that store water, which makes the gel, we associate with Aloe Vera Products.

This gel contains bioactive compounds in the plants, which include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc.

And Aloe Vera gel contains powerful antioxidants, which belongs to a large family of substances known as polyphenols.

The FDA has also approved Aloe Vera ointment as an over-the-counter medication for skin burns back in 1959.

Various studies have also suggested that it is an effective topical treatment for first and second-degree burns.

Applying Aloe Vera to burn wounds appears to accelerate the healing process and it works the same for other types of wounds as well.

Aloe Vera also helps to cause the body cells to produces nitric oxide and cytokines which give that enough needed boost to your immune system, thereby improving the immunity.

  1. May Improve skin and prevent wrinkles

This is another good nature of Aloe Vera that it can slow the aging of the skin. In one study of 30 women who were over the age of 45, the topical application of the gel was shown to increase collagen production and improve the elasticity of the skin over 90 days.

Another study says that Aloe Vera reduced erythema (redness of the skin), but was also found to dehydrate skin cells.

There are very little shreds of evidence that Aloe Vera can treat skin conditions like psoriasis and radiation dermatitis.
